The Mysteries of Light

The Mysteries of Light

A mystery is defined a “any truth that is unknowable except by divine revelation.”  In order to understand the mysteries of God, we must do as Mary did and ponder these things in our hearts.  Let us then ponder these Mysteries of Light:

The Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan

As Christ descends into the waters, the heavens open wide and the voice of the Father declares him the beloved Son while the Spirit descends on him to invest him with the mission which he is to carry out.

The self-manifestation of Jesus at the wedding at Cana

The first of the “signs” worked by Jesus – the changing of water into wine at the marriage in Cana – clearly presents Mary in the guise of a teacher, as she urges the servants to do what Jesus commands (cf. Jn 2:5). Contemplating the scenes of the Rosary in union with Mary is a means of learning from her to “read” Christ, to discover his secrets and to understand his message.

Our Heavenly Queen says, “...with my presence at this wedding, I looked at the future centuries, I saw the Kingdom of the Divine Will upon earth, I looked at families, and I impetrated for them that they might symbolize the love of the Sacrosanct Trinity, so that Its Kingdom might be in full force.”  (The Virgin Mary in the Kingdom of the Divine Will)

“Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.”  (Rev. 21:9-27, Rev. 22:6) “And behold, I am coming soon.”

We must always pay attention to the words of Our Blessed Mother, “Do whatever He tells you!”

The proclamation of the Kingdom of God, with his call to conversion

“When Jesus speaks of the Kingdom of God, He is quite simply proclaiming God, and proclaiming Him to be the living God, who is able to act concretely in the world and in history and is even now so acting…The new and totally specific thing about His message is that He is telling us:  God is acting now – this is the hour when God is showing Himself in history as its Lord, as the living God, in a way that goes beyond anything seen before.”  “…For the Kingdom of God means ‘dominion of God,’ and this means that His Will is accepted as the true criterion.”  “God has a will with and for us and it must become the measure of our willing and being; and the essence of ‘heaven’ is that it is where God’s Will is unswervingly done.”  (Pope Benedict XVI, Jesus of Nazareth)

The Transfiguration of Jesus before the Apostles on Mount Tabor.

“When Jesus will return in His divine glory and appear to all humanity, each one will be called to undergo the same experience as Peter, James and John underwent on Mount Tabor, because jesus will manifest Himself in His splendor and His humanity will be completely transfigured in the most brilliant light of His divinity (To the Priests, Our Lady’s Beloved Sons, #597)

In contemplating Christ's face we become open to receiving the mystery of Trinitarian life, experiencing ever anew the love of the Father and delighting in the joy of the Holy Spirit.

The institution of the Eucharist, as the sacramental expression of the Paschal Mystery.

“…you can very well shrink all of yourself within my Will to be able to form the host of yourself in my Will.  For every act you do in my Will, you will make a host for Me; and I will feed Myself from you, as you do from Me.  What forms the host?  My own Life in it.”  (Book of Heaven, Vol. 12, Oct. 20, 1917)

“I want you to be My Host and have the intention, renewed as often as possible day and night, of offering yourself with Me on all the patens on earth.”  (Conchita, A Mothers Spiritual Diary, pg. 161)

“You are a living Host, pleasing to the Heavenly Father.”  (Divine Mercy in my Soul, #1826)

“Among the mysteries of light, I included the institution of the Eucharist.  Mary can guide us toward this most holy sacrament, because she herself has a profound relationship with it. Pope John Paul II, Esslesia de Eucharistia)

Mary, Mother of God, be our mother, too.

The Holy Spirit will come to establish the glorious reign of Christ and it will be a reign of grace, of holiness, of love, of justice and of peace. With His divine love, He will open the doors of hearts and illuminate all consciences. Every person will see himself in the burning fire of divine truth. It will be like a judgment in miniature. And then Jesus Christ will bring His Glorious reign in the world. To the Priests, Our Lady’s Beloved Sons, May 22nd, 1988

John 1:4 – In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

"Our Lady is the bride of the Holy Spirit.   Her flame of Love will illuminate the world fully when sin is conquered, and the age of the Holy Spirit will arrive.  Our task is to work for the coming of this victory."  Stephen A. Foglein, “The Flame of Love”

The Gift

The Gift of Living in the Divine Will

Jesus tells us in His letter to humanity that it is His Mother who is going about the nations disposing them to receiving the Gift of His Divine Will.  Therefore, I believe that the Consecration is what disposes one to the knowledge and the desire to living in His Will.  We must remember that this is a Gift of God and He gives it on loan to who has the knowledge and the desire to live in His Will.  Fr. Joseph (Iannuzzi) has said that the knowledge does not need to come only through Luisa – it can come in other ways, but a way that would lead us to desire the Gift.

“My daughter, it is true that the living in my Will is a gift, and it is to possess the greatest gift; but this gift - which contains infinite value, which is currency that arises at each instant, which is light that never goes out, which is sun that never sets, which puts the soul in her place, established by God in the divine order, and therefore she takes her place of honor and of sovereignty in the Creation – is given but to one who is disposed, to one who will not waste it, to one who will esteem it so much and love it more than his own life; even more, he must be ready to sacrifice his own life so that this gift of my Will may have supremacy over everything, and be held as more than life itself - even more, his life be nothing compared to It.

Therefore, first I want to see that the soul really wants to do my Will and never her own, that she is ready to make any sacrifice in order to do Mine, and that in everything she does, she always asks Me for the gift of my Will, even just as a loan. Then, when I see that she does nothing without the loan my Will, I give it as gift, because by asking for it over and over again, she has formed the void within her soul, in which to place this celestial gift; and by becoming used to living with the loan of this divine food, she has lost the taste for her own will, her palate has been ennobled and will no longer adapt itself to the vile foods of her own self. Therefore, in seeing herself in possession of that gift which she longed for, yearned for, and loved so much, she will live of the Life of that gift, she will love It, and will give It the esteem It deserves.   Dec. 25, 1925

It took Luisa many years before she received the Gift as first God gave her the gift of the mystical marriage.  So, there are steps to living in His Will and I believe that the first step is giving ourselves to Mary through Consecration to Her Immaculate Heart and She will lead us to the knowledge and the desire for living this holy life.

Bethlehem

Bethlehem

“Jesus came to save you, to teach you all the virtues which He Himself first practiced; He came to buy heaven for you with His Blood – to die for you on a cross so that He may be with you always.

Look at His glorious little eyes which already seek to gaze at you; see those rosy lips, which already utter your name in order to declare His love for you; see His little hands of ermine which are eager to bless you.  Behold Him thinking of you, crying for you, asking that I, His humble mother take Him to your side and  place Him in your arms to caress you.

This tender Child who weeps is the Almighty, Who seeks to touch your heart.  This Child, Who cannot speak yet, is infinite activity which nothing wearies; this Child is the Creator of the universe, eternal Wisdom, supreme Beatitude. This Child will be a martyr of love for God and men, Who will sweat blood, Who will die on a gibbet; He is everlasting Beauty, Life itself, limitless Glory Who will give Himself to you as food in this world.”

Elijah and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel

On Elijah and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel:

From the Douay-Rheims Bible:  (In The New American Bible this Scripture is in 1 Kings 18)

3 Kings 18:[41] And Elias (Elijah) said to Achab: Go up, eat, and drink: for there is a sound of abundance of rain. [42] Achab went up to eat and drink: and Elias went up to the top of Carmel, and casting himself down upon the earth put his face between his knees, [43] And he said to his servant: Go up, and look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said: There is nothing. And again he said to him: Return seven times. [44] And at the seventh time, behold, a little cloud arose out of the sea like a man' s foot.

“Elias went to the top of Carmel…” (Our Lady of Mt. Carmel)

“a little cloud arose out of the sea…”    from The Book of Heaven on the Immaculate Conception – All Three Divine Persons competed among Themselves:  the Father poured out an immense sea of power; I, the Son, poured out an infinite sea of wisdom, and the Holy Spirit, an immense sea of eternal love, which merging into one, formed on single sea; and in the middle of this sea the conception of this Virgin was formed, elect among the elect.”

“like a man’s foot…”  I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.  Gen. 3:15

This comes from a Carmelite Catholic blog:  “In the Carmelite tradition, Elijah and Mary are brought together most closely in the image of the cloud that forms over the sea.”

“This means that the greatest saints, those richest in grace and virtue, will be the most assiduous in praying to the most Blessed Virgin, looking up to her as the perfect model to imitate and as a powerful helper to assist them.  I said that this will happen especially towards the end of the world, and indeed soon, because Almighty God and His holy Mother are to raise up great saints who will surpass in holiness most other saints as much as the cedars of Lebanon tower above little shrubs.  These great souls filled with grace and zeal will be chosen to oppose the enemies of God who are raging on all sides.  They will be exceptionally devoted to the Blessed Virgin.”   From “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin”, St. Louis de Montfort)
